Vincent Robinson played basketball collegiately at Union County College during the 1989-1990 season earning 3rd team all conference honors. He transferred to Rutgers University-Newark to continue his academic and basketball career. Standing all of 5’9 he played power forward and center!!!!!!! Vincent was 2nd in the conference in rebounding at 9.2 rebounds per game and 6th in the conference in scoring at 16.8 points per game during the 1993-1994 season. Vincent was one of three players in the New Jersey Athletic Conference in the top ten in scoring and rebounding. He earned 2nd team all conference honors during his junior year and was a unanimous choice by teammates and coaches as team captain during his junior and senior seasons. A graduate of Rutgers University-Newark in 1997 he became a paralegal from 1997 to 2000. Vincent returned to his alma mater Irvington HS to teach Business Law and Computers from 2000-2003. Wanting more of a challenge he transferred to his former Middle School and taught 7th and 8th grade special needs children for 2 years before becoming a manager with Communities in Schools at Miller St in Newark, NJ. Vincent has a double Master’s degree in Special Education and Education Administration from Somerset University. He’s a former varsity coach on the high school level and has been very instrumental in the development of a host of high school and collegiate basketball players. He provides individual instruction to basketball players of all ages. He has established the Vincent Robinson Foundation to assist inner city youth with academics. Vincent created Athletes Achieving Academic Excellence tutoring program. He continually strives to get inner city youth basketball scholarships thru his various contacts with college coaches from the junior college level to Division 1 level. He is currently the Athletic Director & Head Coach for the Robinson School Phoenix Post Graduate Basketball Team one of the top post graduate programs in the country. Aside from his basketball ties ~ He is the president of Positive Influences Inc. a mentoring and behavioral modification organization. He is also a certified CitiGroup Financial Education Counselor and he guides his efforts to further help people become financially stable.
